Bright Winter Flowers
It was so lovely to make these bright flowers on such a bleak grey November morning, although luckily for Helen and Adrian's big day the sun came out and when we delivered their cake to Thornton Hall there was glorious blue skies! We think it was coaxed by the bright colours of this wedding cake... After tasting our flavours, the happy couple decided to have some cupcakes scattered around the base of the cake too.
Boudoir Cake
It is always lovely to hear from our brides and this morning I received a lovely email from Charlotte's sister Julie who attached some images of the big day! It was so lovely to see Charlotte in her dress and to see the cake being a great part of the day. The wedding was held at Aynhoe park in Banbury which is a grand venue indeed! Charlotte had seen an image of this cake on our website and the black of the icing and deep red ribbons and roses suited her wedding perfectly.
We travelled down to Banbury on the 10th November with this beauty and there we met Charlie from the Flower Fairies, who provided us with these gorgeous sumptuous Grand Prix roses which sat perfectly in between each tier and were the main focus of the table centres.
The cake filling was Chocolate Velvet Cake with Baileys and Baileys Truffle Cream Centre, Vanilla Cake with Champagne, Strawberry preserve and Buttercream and to top it off was a gorgeous Boozy Fruit cake which was matured for 12 weeks and fed with Brandy...
