Based on a very unusual set of wedding stationery which was hand sewn with tiny pearlised beads in the centre of each little 'branch'; this cake was a complete pleasure to make. Katie wanted the pattern on the cake to match the invitations. Around the base of each tier is two layers of double satin ribbon overlaid with a shimmering pearl trim and to finish were the flavours of French Vanilla with champagne, strawberry preserve and Buttercream and a very tangy but sweet Lemon cake with Lemon curd and Lemon Cream in alternate tiers.

A lovely love story
This was and still is the brightest cake that I have ever made! Others have tried but not even come close! As you can see from the dinosaur topper, it's based on the lovely love story and Lisa and Ged both had massive input into this cake; a lot of brides do but this couple literally got involved!
Ged helped by dusting the roses into the gorgeous bright orangey red colour while Lisa came up with the colours of the tiers and the sweep of the roses.
The vivid little bows with tiny coloured spots around each one help to tie the whole cake together and tie the cake in with their equally bright big day as the colours of the cake matched perfectly with the tulips that were the flowers of the day.

Frosty September morning
With it being National cupcake week, I thought it may be appropriate to post some images of cupcakes. I was amazed to see frost on the ground this September morning so thought these snowflake cupcakes were more than fitting. The top of each cupcake has a light blue disc and the handmade snowflakes are finished with a little glitter which just finishes off the frosty look... I also love the way they are reflected in that huge mirror!
Musical sparkle
When Jo first booked her wedding cake with us, these sparkly musical notes were going to be black on the white background. The next time Jo came in, I had started work on a diamante encrusted cake and this was the final design; perfect for their musical themed wedding!

Brochures!
I couldn't resist showing off my new brochures; which were actually printed two weeks ago but I still can't resist showing them off! The design work is gorgeous and was the brainchild of a rather nice lady called Lisa. She knew exactly what I wanted and designed them perfectly.
Purple Anemone
This was a different way of working for me. Holly and Martin spent most of their time abroad and our only contact was email. They had seen images of things they liked and we decided to design something based upon that. Their colour scheme was deep purple and their flowers were anemones. So a cute little anemone with a purple centre was the centrepiece of this pretty cake.
Cascading ivy
Adorned with white ivy leaves upon an ivory background, this cake was stunning. A simple pole stand separated the top boozy fruit cake tier from the rest of the cake which was filled with Chocolate Aphrodisiac, French vanilla with champagne, strawberry preserve and buttercream and Very lemony lemon cake with lemon curd and lemon cream...
